Pricing notes
- Tokenizer: Newer tokenizer produces roughly 30% more tokens per unit of text — per-token price is not directly comparable across tokenizer generations. See tokenizer.
- Superseded by Claude Sonnet 5.5 (2026-09-28) at the same list price; still available. The $2/$10 launch price, originally introductory through 2026-08-31, became the standard price when Anthropic cancelled the scheduled increase to $3/$15.
