Extended memory

Memory added to a custom machine beyond the standard per-vCPU ceiling, billed at a higher rate.

Each series allows a maximum amount of memory per vCPU at the normal rate (for example 8 GB/vCPU on many general-purpose series). Memory beyond that ceiling — "extended memory" — is available on some custom machine types but is billed at a higher per-GB rate.

This site’s calculator prices configurations within the standard memory range; extended memory carries a separate premium that is out of scope here. If you need very high memory-to-vCPU ratios, check the console for the extended-memory rate.
