On-demand price divided by vCPU or by GB of memory — on GCP these are the literal billing units.
The $/vCPU/hr and $/GB/hr columns divide a machine’s on-demand price by its vCPU count and its memory. On GCP these are not just a comparison convenience — they are the actual per-resource rates the machine price is composed from.
Compute-heavy work reads best on $/vCPU; memory-heavy work on $/GB. Both columns are sortable so you can rank the catalog by whichever resource dominates your cost, and compare fairly against AWS and Azure.
