ARM region name
The machine-readable region id (eastus, westeurope) used by the Azure API and CLI — what practitioners actually type.
Azure has a friendly display name ("East US") and an ARM region name ("eastus") for every region. The ARM name is what the Azure Resource Manager API, CLI, ARM/Bicep templates, and the Retail Prices API all key on.
This explorer uses ARM region names in its URLs (/azure/regions/eastus/) because they are stable, unambiguous, and what people search for.
