Spot eviction & eviction policy

How Azure reclaims a Spot VM: by capacity or by price, then either deallocate or delete.

Eviction is Azure reclaiming a Spot VM. You choose an eviction type — capacity only, or capacity-and-price against a maximum price you set — and an eviction policy: Deallocate keeps the disk so you can restart later, Delete removes the VM entirely.

Because eviction can happen at any time with ~30 seconds of warning, Spot workloads should be stateless or checkpoint frequently. This explorer labels every Spot figure indicative for that reason.
